Do the owners of forums like this get payed by rapidshare?

I have always wondered why moderaters and people who run forums are so desperate to get people posting on rapidshare. There are hundreds of equally good file sharing sites that are free, safer and easier to use.

So why rapidshare

But to the topic: nobody is **** or even encouraged to upload to RS, but if you want your stuff to be downloaded, you will put it there.
Even with no premium account, i can download rs-links all day with the same (now reduced) speed. Every other hoster around has a special time-window and only then you will get a download speed that's worth to download. A download speed like 5kb/s at daytime which results in a 8-hour download like netload (from my place) is a joke.
Sure there are other hosters that may offer you a 600kb/s download, but that's maybe only in your country. RS has put a lot of money in servers and has a great overall performance in many countries, that's why it's number one.
And if you are a poster and upload stuff regularly, you also have to keep an eye on the upload-speed. And for me it's only RS where i can upload with full speed (and that's not very much).
