Quality aside, I'm not a great fan of the new HD movies some sites are offering for members to download. My pc usually runs at 2.5-2.7 Mbps the trouble is it's the slow upload speeds of sites offering HD.

For example....When recently as a past member of the Christina model site I attempted to download a 15 minute HD movie, my download window popped up, estimated time TWO HOURS!!!!

Sent the site a mail suggesting maybe HD might be a wrong move, they replied that most members 'are for' the new format and suggested I download overnight, while in bed.

I like HD! My connection is, like yours, not the problem. Those sites offering HD vids that cannot give fast downloads need some time. In the near future HD will be the standard. I remember downloading vids 8 years ago. Compared to the present the quality was absolutly shit in those days Twisted Evil but we didn't know better. For now just ignore slow sites or give it time.

lol at the "overnight download" That's pathetic Sad

Also, I am not that great a fan of HD, as my monitor is only 1280 X 1024 max, and some of the videos actually look pixilated. They do however, look GREAT when burned to DVD.

Why not choose a lower quality download that doen't take all night?

PS: Where did my signature go?

HD is definitely the way to go for downloading videos if you have the storage space for them like I do. I have several terabytes of external storage that I use for my photo and video downloads which includes a huge amount of HD video material I have gotten here and from torrent sites. I use my Xbox 360 to play the files back on my 60-inch HDTV and the quality is stunning to say the least. What irritates me though is that quite a few sites are posting HD video that isn't actually HD but rather almost as large as the minimum HD resolution which is 1280 x 720.

i think HD vids are definitely the future and are becoming more and more common. But it does suck if you have limited space or slow d/l speeds

HD Movies are great if they are posted in .mkv format that dosent take 10billion hours to download or take up alot of space. Most feature lenght films in this format can be from 300mb-1.4GB with superb picture quaility & sound.

My point exactly NMB I want it now! Let us not forget (don't know about US ISP monthly down load limits) in the UK a large number of ISP (depending on the contract) may limit monthly downloads from 2-8GB per month.

Obviously there are exceptions to the above, one would have to pay more for a greater monthly allowance. But the average Joe ain't/can't afford monthly fees of say £18-25 for unlimited downloads. When ISP's state 'unlimited downloads' there is in the small print 'fair use policy' Too good to be true.

Having said that, from the perspective of model sites, I consider it might be beneficial to offer HD downloads. The reason of my thinking for this reflects my first paragraph...........

The download time. For instance, could Rapidshare handle the uploads of HD movies/clips from members on here? Apart from uploads from similar sites?

The servers working overtime downloading/uploading movies/clips in HD my opinion, it'll all come to a grinding halt in the near future.

Thus securing the integrity of model web sites, where (people like you and me) can't share movie clips of our favorite models.

Because sites such a s RapidShare can't/will not be able handle massive HD uploads/downloads

Or there again, I might be wrong.

Merry Xmas to all............Daz

i like the HD -- am lucky enough to have the quick internet and good PC, so no issues there. agreed, rofflez1 --- it is annoying getting thru the 900 RS links and picing the HD together - but still...
