HJSplit sucks, so I wrote my own

Hi all,

As you know, people here often post split files (.001, .002, etc), and then suggest that people use HJSplit to re-join the files.

Well, I don't know about you guys, but I wanted something a little more streamlined, so I wrote my own... and it's very cool. It does the following stuff:

Auto-joins after a 5 second delay (unless you tell it not to), meaning fewer button clicks.
By default it runs in single instance mode, meaning that it will wait until previous joins have completed before starting, so it won't thrash your hard disk.
Can automatically delete the source files from the join, so you don't have to.
When requested, it will associate itself with .001 files, so all you need to do is double click on them, and it will find the other parts and join the files.

I should also mention that I know that it would usually be unwise to download some random exe from the net. So, to try to reassure you that this is safe, I uploaded it to VirusTotal. Here are the results:

I use File Splitter and Joiner: ( http://www.jaist.ac.jp/~hoangle/filesj/FSJSetup.exe )
It is HJSplit compatible, and it has it's own format which allows a password - helps with the rapidshare fairies.

The open source program 7-zip will also rejoin/unpack such files (xyz.001, xyz.002, etc.), as well as most compressed formats, whether they are single files or split into volumes.

just use a UNIX based os. all you need comes with it.

Is this only for PC based computers?
