If you're confused by what the Rapidshare FAQ says about their new max download rates then this email I just received from them may help clarify things. What is said on the site about this is very confusing - unless they've changed it which I said they should do in my 'confused' email to their support, and it only took them six days to reply. Wink

Re: Confused!

Traffic management is necessary to keep the prices we have right now and the high download speeds we offer.

You have the possibility to convert your RapidPoints for additional traffic. Every point is worth 9 megabyte. The maximum amount of traffic which can be added to your account is displayed in your premium zone.

Additional you are able to purchase TrafficShare-packages in your premium zone if you reached the traffic limit.

TrafficShare is converted to download traffic automatically when you request more that your download traffic credits can handle. For the TrafficShare to be converted you need more than 6GB on your account. Each time it converts it will subtract 1GB from your TrafficShare credits and move it to your download traffic. This allows you to download as much as you want or have credits, per day.

Please be aware that some download managers can cause more traffic than the actual file size. The reason is that our system and the download managers do not match.

Downloading with a web browser will not cause any unnecessary traffic.

Every Premium Account receives 2666 MB traffic volume each day. The maximum amount that can be collected is 10 GB. Once you have reached the limit you have to wait until 00:01 CET of the next day to receive the next 2666 MB. In certain circumstances your download volume can be overdrawn. In this case the overdrawn amount is subtracted from the next day credit.

Traffic Example:

Day 1 2666 MB New Account, no Downloads
Day 2 5332 MB No Downloads
Day 3 6998 MB 1000 MB has been downloaded
Day 4 9664 MB No Downloads

With the link "View Logs" in the premium zone you can see how much you have downloaded on each day and from what IP-address.

If there are IP-addresses listed that you do not know, please change your password (and maybe your e-mail address) in the premium zone using the link "settings" and make sure that your computer and email-address are secure so nobody could access your RapidShare-account.
