Eva Henger's interpretation of the character of the career-hungry girl is certainly less aggressive than Elizabeth Berkley's, more dreamy...she's a spectator and willing object of desire rather than a mover ready for a fight. She experiences Vegas' high society sex orgies, true romance...but will it be enough to make her happy?
This quiet and very personal take on Paul Verhoeven's energetic "Showgirls" was to be Joe D'Amato's last movie. He returned to Italy shortly after the shoot and died unexpectedly of a heart attack at his villa in Rome early in 1999.
