avi files

occasionally I DL a movie from vid clips section and extract it, and its just a graphic with an avi picture, and when I run it it will go to windows media player and say searching for codec, then acts like it is playing a movie, but never actually works...


what do I have to do to get these videos to work? do I need a different media program? do I need to unpack them with another program?

Your computer doesn't have the required codecs to play the files.

Do a google search for and then download and install the k-lite codec pack there is a media player included in that which is good (media player classic) your windows media player should now be able to play most of the files too, also get vlc media player another good one. You should be able to play the files now!

Other good media players to get if you don't already have them are real player and quicktime player.
