I recently uninstalled a news reader. Somehow in the process, I lost all of my videos and picture folders. A whole lot of content. Have tried various searches to no avail. Also system restore does not help. Computer is otherwise fine. No viruses etc. Can anyone help?

Filescavenger 3 is the key Smile It saved 90% of my stuff when I accedentally deleted the wrong partition. if you haven't used the drive where the lost files was stored then you should have a good chance of getting most of it back

Deleted files on a drive or a re-writable dvd will only be fully removed and unrecoverable after the sectors which stored the data become over-written. In laymans terms, deleting simply removes the filing index, so they can no longer be found. Until that point programs like Filescavenger should help to recover at least part of the data.
