What happened to nimrod1's thread?

Any news why?

It seems that I deleted nimrod1`s thread by mistake a night or two ago when I was deleting posts by a phisher or spammer who was hiding posts inside existing threads. After I removed the ten or so posts by that offender, I noticed that nimrod`s thread no longer existed.

So, as stated, either I myself accidentally destroyed nimrod`s thread, or this forum`s corrupted database erased it. I`m not sure which. I did apologize to nimrod in a Private Message, however he hasnt replied so I think that nimrod is rightfully pissed off at me.

I dont know what else to add, but the thread is gone, it was entirely my fault, and there is no means to recover it.

Totally, absolutely and completely pissed off at you would be understandable.... hehehe

Ah well, shit happens and it was an accident.



BTW, what was in the thread... maybe some of us that downloaded it can help him recreate it.

It is the second time that nimrod's complete threads were deleted.
I wouldn't be surprised if nimrod had (unfortunately for us) given up to post in this Board

As I told you the first time, you should seriously think about some sort of periodic backup of the Board content, or at least delete putting the deleted posts to the Trashcan

And as I told you already, I dont own this site. I dont have the legal right to make backups when it is not my property. And as I stated above, the thread is gone and cannot be revived.

It is up to the poster to keep a list of posts they make so they can revive their own thread in all of five minutes, if and when anything at all should happen to their threads. And if nimrod now hates me, I cannot change that. It was an accident that occured during my attempts at protecting the rest of the membership, if that is any consolation.

Beyond the banter, I made a mistake. I have apologized to the person. Were it necessary, I would resign my position but at this exact time, it would not benefit the community for me to resign over one mistake.

I dont know if i'm more sad about my thread is beeing deleted or the fact that there are lately so many phishers or spammers.

In any case i just shot Abraxas so he wont be around here any more

A big thanks go out to all the mods, they are doing a great job keeping the board clean for the rest of us and of course little accidents like this can happen.

Thanks for understanding, nimrod1. Some nights the phishers post in waves, often hiding their posts within somebody else`s topic to avoid being seen out in the open, not to mention the spamming bots that post all hours of the day and night and so must be acted upon. Together, it consumes a large amount of my time, and the time of all of the staffers. But I enjoy this community and from time to time I will make mistakes. Sorry that your thread was one of those mistakes, nimrod1.
