I thought I would make this thread one for Mac users to share experience and help each other. I hope that is OK with mods.

HJ Split no good for Macs but this works well joining and splitting files.

Interesting questions.
Have you an Intel based Mac? If yes, you can use Windows apps by using the well known Parallels or Fusion with a little overhead.
I have a Mac with a PowerPC processor, I could use a slower emulator like VirtualPC, but fortunately I have also a grey PC and I prefer to use it to do these things.

About the uploader for Rapidshare, I heard there was a command-line script, but I don't know if you like a such solution. Are you enough nerd?
If there are users who found out equivalent good apps on Mac side, share your knowledge with us. Laughing

Join WMV files and make them into MP4 files (only about 25% of the size of WMVs) with Squared 5 MPEG Streamclip:
http://www.squared5.com/
You will also need Flip4mac codec to convert WMV files:

I've been a MAC-head all my life and I've never really experienced any major hassles (though, I think you're right, they haven't made a rapid-uploader for us yet)

As mentioned, you can unRAR files with Stuffit Expander or try BomArchiver as a backup, split and rejoin splits with Machacha or if its giving trouble try Fast File Saw and Joiner USE VLC to take snaps of the screen and use Quicktime Pro to play all your media files (except RM, of course) . Edit them as you wish e.g. crop out parts, only play a certain part, loop the vid or just the part you selected...you can also loop back-and-forth but I find that a bit weird. Then export the file into a wide choice of media formats such as WMV, AVI, DivX etc

Hey this screengrabber you referenced. I have it now but I am very unsure how to set up the install on it. Help please.

No RS Manager is available but I did find this one that works really nice.

there is Zipeg for OSX that will UnRAR your files, if you don't have STUFFIT, and its free -- also for Uploading Rapidshare there is RSUploaderX for 10.5 OSX.
