My files on RS got blocked. Sad Well, it happens.
I deleted them, renamed the rar-files and uploaded them using RapidUpload.
I didn't get any download links:

Quote:
DownloadLink: Error on getting the links - Fehler beim Auslesen der Links
DeleteLink: The file may be forbidden to be shared. - Die Datei darf nicht verteilt werden.

Creating a new rar-file didn't help (as expected).

Can anyone please tell me how to re-upload?

Hi prlwytzkofski.

This is of course a well known phenomena to many of this forums great posters.
When RS blocks a file they do it by the unique MD5 code.
If you rename a file and creates a new rar the "secret" MD5 code will be the same.
Workaround is to add an empty or simple textfile "Hello" plus the actual file in the single rar.
If you have split rars just alter the size of the splittedfile ever so little.
Should a third reup be necessery, and you used the textfile method, then let the text read "Hello again".
That should be sufficient change to allow the file to be uploaded.

Thank you svinto for the workaround, and better still, for explaining the reason for the workaround.

I considered adding a file, but thought that it could not be the answer because
1) you need to save the extra file with the original set, and edit it before re-up
or
2) you need some kind of administration for which files need "Hello" and which ones need "Hello again"

It means extra work one way or the other. Crying or Very sad
My respect for posters keeps growing and growing.

I just had an idea. Idea If it works I'll explain how on the next round of re-ups.

Yes drolli, changing the date on a file was the idea.
it should work and it does.

If you re-rar a file... changing the timestamps should also work, as well as changing compression settings... anything that will cause even a single bit to change.

Another way is to change the creation date of a file in the rar or zip to any date in order to create a different MD5.
For instance, just set the date of the cover image to the current date.

A very nice and easy tool that I use is FileDate Changer (freeware):

You can also change the compression rate of your rar files Smile
