French film titles

Does anyone know why french film titles only capitalize the first word in the title and not the rest of the words in the title?

Is this common in Europe and only English capitalist every word (except of, to, a, etc)?

Yes there is a lot of good french film in the porn industry such as the films of Marc Dorcel like the avocat ... etc
