capturing screens

can anyone point me a good program to capture screenshots from videos? I've already tried two but all I get is a black screen.

It would help if you gave the type of system and such, or I cold tell you all about how a mac works

Image grabber II is the best and easiest to use program for making screen shots.

if you get a black screen in windows xp, turn off all basic functions on your graphics card. this will make the vids run a bit jagged but you'll be able to make screenshots.

how to: rightcklick anywhere on desktop. choose "preferences", then "settings", then click "advanced" and finally "troubleshoot".
you will find a slider that will be all the way to the right. try moving it 3 steps to the left and click"apply". this should do the trick
