I'm using FDM ( http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/ ), which works fine with rapidshare. Keep in mind that you need a premium account at rapidshare, since free users do not enjoy the luxury of resumable downloads.

I use Flashget myself, but I would add that it has occasional problems resuming RAR files (files won't extract correctly and the interrupted part needs to be re-DL-ed).
I used Flashget in the past until i upgraded to a newer version and found out that this version established a connection to some weird servers in China. Of course this does not necessarily mean that this is bad. I guess its because of these fancy features like finding mirrors and so on.
But still - paranoid as i am - i don't like the idea of my computer being connected to another without me knowing it. Thats why i am using FDM.
If you want to know what connections your computer has established open a command window by Start>Run, type cmd and hit Enter. Then type netstat and you will get a list of connections for the TCP protocol. For more info type netstat -?
