As an admirer of the female form for nearly half a century, I must admit I'm baffled by the disappearance of pubic hair among the women who grace this forum.

First, let me say that I lament the loss of this genital accoutrement. As a boy, wisps of the downy mound was always a delight when I would secretly browse the men's magazines at a local newstand. Now it's rarer than a full set of teeth at a tractor pull.

My first question is simply this: When did this happen? Did someone slip in a constitutional amendment when I wasn't looking? Who decided that pubic hair was a nuisance, and that stubble or the miniscule "no pest strip" was the lingua franca of vaginal fashion? What's more disturbing is that this trend is a worldwide phenomenon, with gorgeous Euro girls, who have largely shunned the tattoo craze (thank goodness), taking up razors by the truckload. This truly is an inconvenient truth.

Sorry, but I just don't get the appeal of it. To buttress my argument, I offer this piece of evidence. Following is the picture of a beautiful woman who clearly has some groin issue which would have been concealed by a well-placed patch. For me, this is too much trash in the gash. (Incidentally, this model had earlier pics where she sported a nice bush, along with great tan lines and was a particular fave.)

Does this appeal to most guys on this forum? Call me old-fashioned, call me a hirsutist or a pube hound, but I don't get it.

I'll stop whining now and simply rejoice in the rare post that showcases the snatch in all its hairy glory. Perhaps some day the muff will return.

I have to agree. Modern porn does seem to look like Action Man fucking Barbi at times.

IMHO, it all started with the assault on body hair on men, and has now spread (no pun intended) to women too.

Body hair in men is a secondary sexual character demonstrating testosterone levels to women. For example, look at gorillas (the Great Apes - gorillas, chimps, orangs, and humans - are all Hominids and very similar). The dominant male in a group develops a 'silverback' of long, distinctive hair. Similarly, many human males start growing additional hair in the same location once they mature and start their own families.

But the fashion and advertising industries have been promoting a hairless male 'ideal' for several decades, which biologically signals lower levels of testosterone. And who runs the fashion industry? To put it delicately...men with significantly less testosterone than the average male. So I don't think this is an accidental shift in body image promotion by fashion/advertising.

And now that we have shifted so far to the extreme in what is considered attractive in men, hairlessness has now become the default accepted standard for women as well.

I'm not so sure it is an effeminate male thing, allthough I agree that the trendy gay set did appear to get heavily into depilation in the late nineties.
It seems to have begun in the eighties - prior to that any shaving in real porn was rare, so rare that Color Climax used to do special films involving shaving. Then the lips got shaved as a routine, and by the nineties pubic hair for girls was down to a shaped tuft above the vagina. This was fine, it even worked in the real world as I no longer got organic dental floss stuck in my teeth.
But then girls started to try to look y ounger and blonder, and pubes vanished, almost overnight. Then the guys shaved - possibly the organic dental floss problem, but for girls. Possibly also this made the dick look bigger too.
Now, it is a wonder if the guys are allowed eyebrows!
Still at least there are still some sites where you can find the old classics, and girls which remind you of real world women.

I prefer no hair to lots of black hair.

Its a tricky one. I like a but of pubic hair....but too much. I dont wanna floss down there lol. But I hate the completely shaved ones too. Kinda creepy.

Sometime I like it this way, sometimes that way, and the rest of the time the other way. As long as it isn't the same all the time, for no other reason than it doesn't have to be.

Enjoyed the feedback so far on this post. Thanks. As someone who is new to this forum and probably older that most (4Cool, I guess I'm confused as to why normal body hair is relegated to fetishism. It's no longer the norm. When I was growing up, it was the reverse. Shaved, an uncommon trait, was the fetish. Now it's the opposite. Damn porn world is upside down.

Perhaps it will shift again. Tastes vary from era to era, and maybe the full bush will make a resurgence. But the mindset that says that shaved is more sexually attractive or socially acceptable baffles the shit out of me. Is it Madison Ave. as one post suggested or is there something else at work here?

I found it funny that a recent post also explores a similar theme about the extra bits that sometimes dangle from the woman's coochie pop. Meat curtains made me howl. It reminded me of that Bill Hicks routine about Barbara Bush enveloping Rush Limbaugh with her flaccid pussy lips.

BTW, thanks otiscleotus for the outstanding pics. Loved both of them.

They are called the labia minora (singular: labium minus) - if you really want to know, start here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labia_minora

ugh... hate massive pubic hair almost as much as the "dangling bits" both are a real turn off and serve no practical purpose that I am aware of

Meeting this next lady on the beach would be divine. With a pussy like that, I could be a real beachcomber. In fact, I could hang on and do some water skiing.

This is the way it was meant to be. Say no to the skinny snatch patch. Gimme hair, long beautiful hair....

Shrubbery is great, but when it obstructs the view it's time to trim it. Some of the more hirsute models could be hiding ANYTHING under there.
And some sites debate mundane trivia like world peace and the meaning of life. Hah!

interesting - very interesting - i suppose its all down to personal preference - some like big boobs some like small - some like hairy some dont - me? well i dehair Smile have done for a few years - and i prefer going down on a smooth girl cos i dont like the stray hairs that stick on your tongue!!
incidentally i am working away from home this summer in a mediterranean country and speaking to the girls here shaving is and has been the norm for several generations apparently - although i have met girls who have a full bush and some who just trim - but it would appear that for most they are taught to shave by grandma when it 1st appears !!

Now that is just wrong. Laughing As male non-adults (is there anything the automatic censors do allow you to write?) we were always told to 'keep the stallion in the corral' - I think a reasonable equvalent to women everywhere would be to 'keep the hedgehog in his den.'

Many lifetimes ago I worked as a lifeguard at a pool a fairly international University, and seared into my memory is one female sunbather just like the one in that picture. Shocked Someone could have drowned on that side of the pool because I couldn't look in that direction without having my eyes irresistably drawn to that train wreck.

otiscleotus said it best - it is all about variety. Having all girls in porn shaved all the time is boring, and it is high time for some balance to return.
