You must be joking Very Happy

Always think of Gary Lineker:
"Football is a simple game; 22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the Germans win."

Enough said?
Cool

Laughing

Yeah, the Germans are usually very good at defending a lead...doesn't always make for an exciting match but it gets the job done.

Turkey's comeback was pretty awesome to watch but surely based on tonight's performance, (by both side) Germany must got through to the final.

I´m from México, european soccer is far away from all, it´s the best soccer in the whole world, after watching this games, I see that no american or asian, or african soccer teams are needed to see best quality of soccer. Today I was surprised by Turkey, but in my opinion Holland will be the new champ...Cheers to all!!

Cant believe Turkey last night! Crazy stuff. On paper Germany should beat them, adding Turkey also losing 3 more of their better players to suspension, fighting spirit alone may not get them through this time...

But then again I did think Croatia were going to do them & Croatia did well against Germany.. hmm. Who knows..? Confused

Holland is a region of the Netherlands, it was used to name all the country of Netherlands since 1060 to around 14th century and it cames from Dutch as Holtland, correct I fall in the error of name Holland the whole nation.
But, Dutch is not used as an adjective for Holland in a modern context because Dutch refers to all of the Netherlands, not just Holland.
But maybe I´m wrong...Cheers!
By the way, I´ve read it in wikipedia, witch could be a powerful tool to solve all doubs.
And good luck with Turkey...

Yes i know Holland and the name "Holland too" Wink all german peoples say
"Holland" and they are our biggest rivals (always). I was joking a bit
at my last post Wink We had 30 Matches against each other....the first was
14.3.1956, at the Düsseldorfer Rheinstadion.
take a look:
screenshot
I am not sure but i mean the reason for all the trubble in the last
years was the unfair
spit-attack from "Frank Rijkaard" versus Rudi Völler at the WM 1990 (fixed)
look here:
screenshot
From this day are Holland & Germany a bit estranged;)
And all Matches versus Holland are more prestige-games Wink
But i am sure,... if we reached the Final-round and we must play
versus Holland we will win,....once again screenshot

....No offence! to all Dutchman peoples,...but we have much more skill screenshot

And thanks for your good wishes for the next Match versus Tukey Smile

have a nice day.

That was in 1990, the world cup tournament in Italy!

The reason the Germans dislike Dutch football/soccer, is 'cause the Dutch always have produced better players. Johan Cruyff, Marco van Basten, Ruud Gullit, Dennis Bergkamp.... The list goes on and on.

The only two great players from Germany I can think of are Uwe Seeler and Franz Beckenbauer. They had some good players, like Thomas Häßler, Günter Netzer and Lothar Matthäus (one of the biggest pricks alive if you ask me), but not exceptionally good ones.

One of the reasons the Dutch (actually most Europeans do...) hate German football/soccer is, that for some reason they win a lot, even when they play like crap (they usually do Laughing ).

By the way, the last time Germany beat the Netherlands was in 1996, twelve years ago.....
