Well I'm not totally deaf but I'm well along the way and it does suck when you can't understand the waitress in a restaurant or even the cashier in the checkout line. For those of you ipodites you better be careful with that volume because you will eventually pay.

I agree! If you had not brought it to our attention, would we have known - much less treated you any differently? As it happens, my wife is partially deaf and my sister in law was born deaf. We have to change the way we talk to them, but not what we say. If Stephen Hawking was on this forum could we tell who he was from his posts?
