i bought a year or so old version of photimpact (7 i think) for something like $12 and it's a program that has always been pretty close to photoshop but at only 1/3 the price new.

anyone that wants to get into photop editing should look into photoimpact which has retailed for around $80 as long as i've heard of it. photoshop goes for $350+ and isn't much more than 10% fuller featured.

i haven't even scratched the surface of my TOO DEEP! copy of photoimpact which i bought MOSTLY for creating webpages. unfortunately, the users manual excludes the "photo book" features that are necessary to create thumbpages as the program is available seperately, but it DOES go into detail about all of the photo tweaking abilities.

it's really an impossible to use program if you don't read the manual as it's so deep. save yourself several hundred dollars and read some photoimpact reviews and then shop at any number of software closeout stores to pick a copy up for under $20.
