auto DL name thing

I am new here and I am wondering if there is any program that can auto name files I download. Like a picture be defalt it is called 01.jpg, is there a program that will name it Automatic that is not named that? I ask because I run into having to re-name pix all the time because it is the same name as a picture in my files.

It's possible to develop such a tool, but I don't think it'll happen... Would be shareware and when people don't get paid, they tend to say "hell no" to a project like that, hell, I would.... Leech program..I never thought about it like that. I see your point though.
I was asking about such a program because it sure would cut down on time spent trying to rename files. but anyway. I try not to leech or leark but that is hard to do at times.

nothing wrong with leeching and lurking, a lot of posters like the odd" thanls" now and then. Some are in it for the dl points (I'm not, or I would be a rapidshare poster), but the good posters in here do it for your (and many others) benefit. Have fun and don't forget to say thanks now and again to the posters (kind of odd coming out of my keyboard, cause I hardly ever say thanks, then again, I hardly ever dl files outside usenet).

you can configure 'downTHEMall' (the Add-on for FireFox) to rename files as you download them



but I use 'ReNamer' to sort the file names for me after I've downloaded them
(its great for removing all the random stuff at the start and end of files that some Image Hosts put on)
