You know, I agree. I love helping people, and the pay-off is if they appreciate it.
Now, that is why I got into tech support. I figured there are alot of people that do not know about computers. I could help them and get paid for it at the same time. Sadly....you don;t get the appreciatation part. It's alot of yelling, screaming, complaining, whining, bitching, moaning, until you fix thier problem. Then after you fix thier problem its alot of yelling, screaming, complaining, whining, bitching, moaning until you find a nice way to get off the phone. Now...repeat for the next 8 HOURS!!!!
But the one time you get the customer who enjoys the fact that he's all fixed up and educated, it can re-infuse your energy levels and you can go on for the rest of the week.
