I know this is an old link but it might help someone, if they're searching for a decent program to recover deleted files or files from a corrupted Hard-Drive!! In my case I lost over 500 GBs of movies and telly shows I was storing on a external (as a precaution; NEVER leave external hooked to PC when it reboots and goes into check disc mode!! I lost most everything -- folders turned into files and top layer vids into 33kb files & 3 extra folders of those horrid chk files) --- I was devastated and tried about 4 different recovery programs; which found bugar all !! **but then I tried "FILE SCAVENGER" VERSION 3. and recovered 3/4 of dvd files intact!! it was easy to use and even restored them to correct folders (the only time consuming thing was doing individual searches for vob/ifo and bup files, but even that was relatively EASY!! especially since the program restored them to the correct folders)
**program is not FREE unless you know where to look
