20. January 2008 - Problems accessing RapidShare

Unfortunately, starting at 5 pm CET, one of our carriers experienced a severe technical problem with their hardware, causing a loss of 50 gigabit of bandwidth. Therefore RapidShare was unavailable for several hours. We already have taken steps to avoid this particular problem in the future.


Shut down????? why does everyone think the worst???

I'm still having a problem with RS. I can download files with no problem (my average dl speed is less than b4.....but downloads still work) and I can log into my RS account with no problem; but when I try to upload I keep getting a message "connection to the server was reset while page was loading".......my last successful upload was yesterday.

Anyone have any ideas???

Is there any point in sticking with Rapidshare, especially following recent events? First they start randomly deleting files, then they have server problems that bring the entire porn community to a standstill. A phrase involving eggs and baskets springs to mind... Smile

I see your point, but it also is a question of critical mass.......If everyone is using RS to post, I buy an account so I can DL all this stuff without restrictions. I then upload to RS and hope that many people will DL my stuff so that I may earn a free account for the next month......It becomes a cycle.
Hopefully RS will sort their problems out soon as things were chugging along nicely before these recent disruptions, and I have more stuff I'm waiting to put up Wink

I can upload again...............Turns out it was a problem with a corrupted host file. RS support helped me out, so all is right in the universe again Cool
