It disturbs me that in Canada the age of consent for hetero and lesbian sex is 1 4, especially when there doesn't appear to be any restrictions on the age of the elder participant.

That site isn't really up tp date. I thought that the anti-sexual laws in the states had been changed. But maybe I'm wrong.

I find it funny that women can have lesbian sex at 14 but men have to wait to be 18 to have homosexual sex in Canada.

It's legal to fuck a 14 year-old (girl) in Canada, but if you pay her you go to jail (she must be 18 before she can get paid for it), and if you snap any photos while you're fucking her, you also go to jail. (They ardently defend photographic virginity much more than sexual virginity.)

I'm not complaining though. I'm three hours drive from Canada.

I don't feel most c hildren that age would be able to be very good parents,
which would be very likely to happen if let go at that age. Society sets
up laws to try to prevent c hildren berthing c hildren. The age of 18
provides for some intellectual maturity to develop and allows for the c h i ld
to at least finish public education which is a basic requirment if the person
wishes to be employed in a manner that will provide for raising c hildren.
Allowing c hildren to have sex before they can even take care of
themselves is irresponsible of any society IMO. I can't think of anyone
who would imagine that they would have had a better c hildhood if their
Mother and Father had been 1 4 when they where born.

Josiah, all I'm saying is that if we treat someone as a chi!d at a time when Nature says they are an adult, we set ourselves up for problems. How many 30 year-olds have you seen who still live with "mommy" and can't do their own laundry because their parents continued to treat them like chi!dren?

And I would rather have 32 year-old parents show up at my high school graduation than old raisins who need a wheelchair.
