Screencaps/thumbnails

How do you take screencaps/thumbnails from a video?
I have Win98 so I can't use WMP 11

The error is because the program and Win98 components aren't compatible.
I got a similar message when I tryed to run it on a WinME platform.

i'm running XP and got the same error after i installed the latest ati-driver (7.11)
check directX (run dxdiag), if D3D-tests fail, try an older driver.
another reason for this error might be that your codecs are not properly registrated.
anyway, i would recommend installing XP if your machine is fast enough (500 mhz +)
otherwise, as deity said, search for imagegrabberII (without .net)
or try media player classic. (it's also included in the k-lite codec-pack)
