Google should have a "Picture ID" area. Upload a photo into Google...it searches, and gives you links to more photos/websites and a NAME of the model.

Just an idea I have. I think it would be VERY beneficial to all of us here, and elsewhere in the worldwidenet!

That is all, carry on now Very Happy

Is there such a thing a photo recognition software outside of law enforcement available for general use?

Laughing Laughing Laughing Right! Very Happy But. in truth, some people here don't know what Google is for regular stuff, much less how to use the search function here! So we would still have the "does anyone know who this model is" posts Very Happy

Facial recogniton's pretty tricky as software goes. It'd be easy for it to get either false positives or to miss who it is entirely. Doing it for a few pictures in a local collection isn't bad, but doing it for billions of images on the internet would be a gigantic drain on resources; to be even somewhat all encompassing you'd need one monster of a database and a stack of processors that would choke a mule.

That said, i think we'll have it eventually - just might take a good while. I actually think such software could be fairly world-altering in some ways - imagine employers searching for pictures of you on the internet, instead of just for your name!
