Protecting your Rapidshare Links

Can someone please explain the pros and cons of each method, and their relative degrees of success? Thanks.

Always put vids and pics in rar files, call rar file a non descript name and not the girls name or site name she is from. Password protect it including the option to password protect individual file names in the rar. Choose a password that is a mixture of meaningles text, using upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols e.g. 549gtFrd_Pxz (this makes it extrememly difficult for anyone including rapidshare to open using password crackers).

Never add the rapidshare link as a clickable link on the forum instead when you are posting highlight the link and use the code button when making your post so that people downloading it will be **** to copy and past it into their browser in order to download. This initialy prevents rapidshare from being able to know where your link is posted on the web.

I use winrar for windows. In the options when raring files you can choose to put a password on the rar. I am not sure what rar program is best for mac operating systems but you should be able to do the same thing in it's options. I think svinto uses a mac, maybe he or another knowledgeable member with a mac can help more with that.

The code feature is an option you have when making a post on the forum. There are nine buttons near the top just under where you add your subject line, bold, italic, underline, quote, code etc.

Esty is partial right. I used to use a MAC OS9 for surfing.
All my preps have on the other hand always been done on Windows platforms.

For you on MACOSX there is a RAR-version you can download from here if you haven't already.

The 4 pics I have attached should have the similar look in the MAC version.
The number 104000000 Split to volumes, bytes gives chunks of 99.1 MB plus one with the reminder.

Sugarman I have currently 5500 files 390 GB on RS, in 18 months I have had around 200 files deleted by RS.

I would also like to find out about "intermediary" services like Rapidsafe, Rapidbolt etc? What do they do, are they successful, how do they compare to one another etc.

The different linkservices are of course not protecting you from either RS themselfes or morons reporting to RS.
The benefit of encrypting with pass is that RS can't easily check the content.
All my deleted files has been reported by someone and not by RS selfdetection.

Is it possible to put a password on an RS link or in any way make it available to only some once it's been uploaded?

I thought I'd revisit this topic to see if there were any new ideas out there.
