i found this announcement in another forum i used to visit :

QUOTE

A notice for ending the babes forum

To all loyal xxx members,

Due to continued legal threats we have to announce the sad closure of the babes forum. Even though this board is private there are still a number of active members who are reporting back to various webmasters who are threatening to take legal action against us unless we remove their copywrited material.
Therefore we have been left with only 2 alternatives. The first option was to shut down the whole forum or the second option, delete the babes forum. We have decided to go with the less drastic second option and so on Tuesday the 19th of june 2007 the babes forum will be deleted.

We sincerely apologise to you all and are well aware of the considerable amount of time and effort that you have all put in to make the xxx babes forum the huge success that it has been over the past two years.

Like a phoenix it shall arise from the flames and return with two new strict rules.

1 No full sets, you can now only post 20 pictures or less.
2 No links to full sets.

If you wish to comment please do so in this thread but don\'t pm any of the mods complaining. You have one week left to enjoy the babes, make the most of it.
END OF QUOTE

this is the second closure within 3 weeks due to copywright problems.

will this happen to forumophilia.com too??

(please excuse my poor english)

cheers

I hope & pray that it doesn't happen here but having said that there seems to be a crusade amongst the music and adult industries to shut down file sharing forums and blogs. I cannot mention any names but several well know blogs & forums that I visit are now either gone or have removed all file sharing posts or sections.

very concerned,

Perhaps we should first close viewing forumophilia for non-registered people?

probably a good idea anyway but the board above in question was already closed. unfortunately there were too many squealers on the inside that spoiled it for the rest. Forumophilia has tighter rules and restrictions and is well moderated so should not be a prime target for the lawyers - fingers crossed.

The issue is one of supply, not demand. It is the posters and the posts that has to be controlled....and continuously controlled.

And while the suggestion sounds like a good thing to do anyway, I promise you, it would have a decidely negative effect on the forum. Those blocked would just register and, at once, the board would become filled with lame-duck members who wouldn't bother to learn the posting rules or protocol.

Worse still, threads that are currently laden with content would soon become filled with nothing but requests, complaints, thank-you-for-sharing's and other mindless drivel; that many more members and that many more posts simply means that much more work for the moderators.

Can't things like this be solved by placing the forumophilia.com servers in some country where copyright isn't so well regulated? A Swedish forum called "flashback" moved to servers in Britain due to some freedom of speech issues a few years back...

You see a forum has been closed. Do you want forumophilia to be closed because our stuff is posted open for all people?

At another forum i found a list of sites who wants to close that forum, so open access to the download area has been limited to a usergroup.

Following site admins tries to stop the forum:

susanspearslive
Alison Angel
Nubiles
Metart
Teenrotica
hegre-art
marketa4u
metmodels
AmourAngels
W4B
fm-teens

I think we schould consider methods to keep forumophilia alive.
