I bought Image Grabber 2 so I could get screen shot from my vids before I posted them. I get my vid going, open Image Grabber up. I pause my vid where I want the picture. Go to screen capture mode click save to file.
It saves a pic, I name it. Here is the problem.... When I open the pic it is a pic of my video player with a blank screen. WTF am I doing wrong??

There is a camera icon at the right of the video controls. Click it to take shots and they will appear vertically on the left side of the player. Go to File, Save File, and a preview window will open. Click Save.

I guess I am a dumb ass. I went and bought image grabber 2. It is just for capturing images of your desk top. I knew something was wrong when you started talking about video controls and camera icons. This one I think is made by Gordo.

I think I need the Image Grabber that is made by Capturex?

if you are only taking single screenshots, then you only need VLC and its for free.

Also, never buy any software before trying it out.

"Image Grabber 2" "Image Grabber II" Oh well... wasn't the first time
I did something stupid and sure won't be the last! Laughing Laughing

If you are using Windows Media Player (might happen with other video players) wmp uses overlays for video acceleration which will cause screenshots to show up as black or blank images. In media player go to tools>options and click the performance tab and a window will open. Find and click the advanced button. Under the video acceleration find the checkbox for 'use overlays' and remove the check. Now you will be able to take any screenshot you want from videos using your print screen button.
