I'm only asking as an uploader, not as a mod.

Some of you may have noticed that I've been posting much larger files than I did in the past. Now that I have cable, it's just so much easier for me to scoop up a bunch of files and upload them as is. Uploading a gig file just isn't a problem anymore. But I realize that downloading a large file like that IS a problem for some people.

So I'm wondering at what point do most people want files to be split. The smallest split the rules permit is 300MB. So if the file is 400MB, do you want that split 300MB +100MB or just leave it at 400MB?

What about a 500MB file? Or a 700MB one?

If a file is 800MB, would you prefer it be split 300+300+200 or 400+400? Or just left at 800?

In other words, what is the largest file over 300MB that you can easily download?

Hi JB, Thanks for asking. For my purposes, I'd prefer a smaller number of files, so not split too small each.
Above 500MB, I seem to get a lot of crashes mid-download, So, in your example of an 800 MB, I'd say 400+400 is great!
And I do love your threads! Shocked Very Happy Very Happy
