I mostly listen to Japanese music these days. And I'm still totally hooked on "Baby Metal". People's reactions first tend to be, "OMG...WTF WAS THAT!" followed by "OMG...They are soooo cute!" and finally ending up with "OMG...I actually like them!"
My favorite is
Ijime,Dame,Zettai which has amazing guitar solos in it.

There's an alt version called "Nemesis", which has some behind the scenes look at the making of the video, plus the 3 girls goofing around.

Doki Doki Morning" was the first song they did and it's really a creative video and fun song after get over the initial shock of it. Another song,
Iine is pretty good but it's more dance/pop than anything.

But the chorus always gets stuck in my head for hours after listening to it.
An older Japanese band which has often been compared to Metallica\Queen is called
X-Japan. Probably one of the most popular bands you never heard of. Their final farewell concert when all the band members were alive is almost 4 hours long and just amazing. It's called

The stage and lighting are just incredible. You don't need to know Japanese to appreciate and love their music. You'll swear you've heard some of the songs before. Their drummer, Yoshi, is one of the best drummers ever. Oddly enough, he's also the most popular member of the band. And he's a hell of a pianist. Check out 47 minutes into the concert.
