You mean ... youtube ones?

There's a video downloader inside Firefox browser that performs the task smoothly Wink

Deity, you might want to check out this possible solution.

http://all-streaming-media.com/faq/recording-media-stream/faq-record-download-capture-save-flash-flv-video-http.htm

The blurb reads:

Quote:
How to record Flash .FLV Video HTTP or RTMP stream with Replay Media Catcher (recommended method)
Replay Media Catcher is a flash stream ripper. It can record .MP3 audio and Flash .FLV streaming video broadcasted through HTTP or RTMP protocol (such flash stream URLs start with http:// or rtmp://).

Here's how to record from Macromedia Flash Player with Replay Media Catcher:
Download and install Replay Media Catcher.
Open Replay Media Catcher and click "Start Recording".
Play your flash video or audio stream.
All .FLV flash video and .MP3 audio files streamed through the HTTP or RTMP protocol will be saved to hd automatically!

To download and try the app, click here:

http://www.applian.com/replay-media-catcher/demo.php

It also describes other methods etc. I figured it might be of some use to you even if only to read on the topic of catching flv streams.

This Replay Media Catcher demo is fully functional. The only limit is that you'll be able to capture just 75% of every file until you order

Downloaded it earlier, but I want 100%.
If somebody else wants to download the video, there's a thread in the video section where people would love to get it in another formatt. This is the extended video.

Just go to www.keepvid.com

Enter the youtube address.

Gives you a download link.

This link saves the file as "get_video"

Just rename to "filename.flv"

Play in a flv player.

Or get 'Total Video Convertor' - a free program - and convert the flv file to a standard format such as mpg / avi etc - at twice the size

Hooray!

Very Happy

to capture them:
go with explorer to your browsercache. sort for date.
now load go and watch the video. wait until its full loaded. look in your browsercache the youngest big file and copy it to where ever you want.
with ie you can see the name. with FF it has only comfuse lettercombinations. rename it after coping.
you can user vlc to watch.

This one is pretty easy. I'm just going to repeat the previous poster.

i've just been downloading flv's left right and centre for the past 3 days from yt, dailym, etc. The method I use is Internet Explorer, FF is my regular browser but it's a pain in the ass to dig up the temp folder.

It's 100x simpler using IE:

Tools>Internet Options>Temporary Internet Files>Settings>View Files

Sort by filesize should bring the FLV's right to the top, even easier with Vsocial as they keep the FLV extension, whereas yt flv's have no extension. After each download refresh folder view, I hit the Up button and then the Back button and the files are there - you can try Refresh, or F5, but I found that this method is not as fast as Up+Back.

To view FLV files you can use vlc, but flv's are not seekable in vlc. To make seekable, install ffdshow*, go to codecs, and enable FLV1. After doing that, MediaPlayerClassic will play flv plus you can seek.

*the latest beta ffdshow from free-codecs 2007-04-24 has flv enabled by default, the sourceforge version which I got is 2004 and flv needs to be manually set.

Thanks for your help because I am also looking for how to capture and save similar files. Anyone know how to or what type of video files are on these pages and how to capture them. Thanks again for your help.

I used Firefox and flashget to grab this one.

1. Go to the above url using FF

2. Go to Tools > Page Info > Media

You'll see many links, but the one you want is the very very long one full of random characters. Copy this link. If you try to use Save As it'll ask you to launch WMP which is not what you want.

3. Flashget will take this link and download the wmv file no problem even though it is mms: and not http:.

That's a pretty good way to find those Flash files. After you've copied and pasted them to whatever directory you're saving them in, go Google Riva Flash WMV Converter and get their freeware to play or save them as wmv. Nice and easy program, no frills or whistles, but gets the job done.

Deity I want you to know your little file has turned into a royal pain in my gonads in at least three different places.

First, the file is not in your cache because it is streamed in small chuncks with all the same name, then the final chunk is overwritten with the little piece that shows the selection boxes at the end. By the time you check your cache it's too late, it's long gone.

Second, none of the normal websites that save flash videos will get it because there is a Not Safe For Work flag at the beginning of the load, so the site never receives input.

So first I tried the Adobe Flash Grabber, all it grabbed was the initial setup flash.

I tried Fetch Flash, it's supposed to go get the Flash objects from your cache, it didn't fetch shit.

So I thought I'd go the other way and do a stream capture. I loaded up CoC Soft Stream Down, which wanted an originating URL to connect to, and tried four different URLs and src's which all pointed to the same bullshit setup Flash file. It saved that useless piece of crap quite well.

Finally I tried brute force, I installed a trial copy of SnagIt, set it to video capture of a region of the screen, and started capture. Problem was, the code wanted to reload all the little chunks every time it was played, and there were little jitters and glitches in it.

So I worked with that crap for a while and ended up with three versions of Peachez [I'm so sick of looking at that little bitch, I wish she had a razor-wire-dildo in her ass]. All three are 400x300 resolution, all were originally saved at 15 frames per second AVI'ed, then trimmed and resaved as WMVs.

Here they are:

Peaches 1

Peaches 2

Peaches 3

Also notice to all, these links are only going to be here for a short while since it is a direct download, right click Save As, and then they will be gone.

There are still some problems with the quality of the video, the lighting is poor, the strobe causes the colors on the wall to break into pixel mosaics, which can be seen in the originating page but since it is at a lower resolution it's not as noticable. Also all three have various degrees of pause and jitter due to stream loading, some worse than others. You might want to have a video hack work on them or yourself, or you might want to hold out for something better.

It's been a fun project, I'm glad to be done with it.

Wow, I'm impressed with your efforts. Reading about the problems you encountered I thought I must've missed something the first time. So I went back to the vsocial site using IE again and when the video was finished I opened temp folder and there was the FLV again. Hmmm, did you try IE?

The problem I had was viewing it in MPC, no pic, only sound. I could view fine it in VLC but could not seek the video. Unless a vid is 30 seconds long I can't tolerate that!!

In VLC properties for this clip I found out that this vid is encoded in VP6F or FLV4. After trying a bunch of things in ffdshow and even installing the on2 VP6F codec and their proprietary software that supposed can play these files (they made this codec afterall) and still getting only black screen and no sound in MPC, I finally found the answer at videohelp.com.

Download FLV EXTRACT which will demux the file. When it splits it into avi and mp3 you can play it in MPC *and* seek it like any regular video, there is no need to re-encode an already terribly lossy picture.

Now about this Peaches....

About the only thing hot about Dancing Peaches was the always slim possiblity (thanks to blurry picture of lossy video) that she was actually the very same girl in the other video, Trampoline Peaches. It melted the brain to think that this innocent looking cutie could go wild with such abandon like that.

But later it became obvious that they were 2 diff ppl, an angel and a whore, not one girl who was both lol. It's great vid if only because it started me along a path that eventually led me to the world of youtube booty-shakers (aka shakinthatass.com).
