Why not imgur as allowed image hoster

I was checking the new rules and I saw that a few hosters like imagevenue or imagebam are recommended. But these hosters are full of spam and other ads. Why don't you guys just allow imgur or minus.com? Those sites are standard on big communities like Reddit. They allow you to share images and they don't disturb the visitors with spam. These sites also allow one to download the pictures pretty fast, and do not relink one to something else when you try to download them. I use imgur for my pictures and minus.com for larger pictures since they don't resize them.

Just a suggestion.

That host is not banned. That is a recommended list, not a 'only' list. The hosts that get banned are ones that have malware attached to them or cause too many problems for users.

I'd love to see imgur too actually, +1

There is no posted official list. If a host is banned, you simply will not be able to post with it. Most hosts are banned due of virus/malware attached to them or because they are just overall horrible hosts.

Ideally, everyone should be using free Ad Block, which seamlessly prevents most pop-up ads and redirects. With AdBlock turne d on, imgbabes looks fine. Turn it off and it's a nightmare host. But far too many people don't use it - WHY NOT ?!? - so we tend to ban hosts that cause the average user a lot of problems. It may be a porn forum, but we try to keep it as safe as possible for visitors.
