How To Create A Snapshot And A Preview Pic For A Video

Before you can upload a snapshot or preview pic, you have to create one. I use MediaPlayerClassic (MPC) because it is free, straightforward, full-featured and plays virtually all formats. It also lists all the information needed for posting (filesize, duration, resolution, and format) in the header.

Play the video in MPC and press "Pause".

For a snapshot:

- Click File / Save Image...
- Check the active open folder in the location box at the top and navigate to the desired folder if necessary.
- Modify the file name (optional)
- Click "Save".

For a preview pic:

- Click File / Save Thumbnails....
- Check the active open folder in the location box at the top and navigate to the desired folder if necessary.
- Modify the file name (optional)
- Set the desired number of rows and columns desired.
- Set the thumbnail pixel width. I use 700.
- Click "Save"
