Rapid Share problems

Hello can anyone help?

Each time I click on a rapidshare download link it goes to a blank page and then just tries to download the file without going to rapidshare download site. Very strange as downloads the zip file icon or whatever but with no data within file?????

Any help or sugestions would be appreciated as have rapidshare premium but cant download files!!!! Whats going on!

Are you using Internet explorer or firefox, if your using IE I would just try firefox to see if that works. I now prefer firefox anyways.

I've had a lot of 'issues' with rapidshare.com lately but found a thread in the 'General Chat' forum. The one this that I've found that seems to work is change the http: to https: and this seems to let me into Rapidshare without any problems.

Rapidshare can be a right pain in the ass at times!!

trousers it might sound silly but are you sure you haven't choosed direct downloads in account-options for RS?

With that enabled I get one of three possible scenarios.

1. Blank page and download window from my download manager.
Blank page closes automatically after link has been entered into the downloadmanager.

2. Page with rubbish text. Deleating the drive info (ex. dl44l32.) in the adress and hitting enter gives me the windows option view, download or cancel.
Download gives me my usual downloadmanager communication.
The window with the rubbish text has to be closed manually.

3. Blank page with the windows option to choose view, download or cancel.
Download gives me my usual downloadmanager communication.
The window has to be closed manually.

If this is similar to what you get and don't want, then uncheck direct downloads in the RS options.

Right - the problem now seems to be that rapidshare.de & rapidshare.com are different companies and you cant download a rapidshare.com link if your rapidshare.de member! What a load of bollocks!

All help pages are useless! I'm getting really pissed off now!!

I've been getting this problem from time to time. Seems to be particularly noticeable at busy times. When I try the link later it seems to work. I am a member of both .com and .de

This is the latest in this sorry saga regarding rapidshare.de vs rapidshare.com. Why should you pay for premium on both .de & .com if there pretty much exactly the same?

My response

Your a bunch of rip off scum having two companies with practically the same name and web layout!. Deceiving people into purchasing an extension on their premium account when it does not work with Rapidshare.com, which most download links are associated with and I was able to download previously. Why would two different companies decide to have pretty much the same name and web layout if they did not mean to deceive people!!

I am going to expose you to the relivant internet watchdogs as to how you are deceiving people into purchasing the wrong extension on their premium accounts and hope that makes you sort it out and stop misleading people in future!!

How come previously you said you had sorted it and it now should work when you now say that you have no record of my Rapidshare.com account?

And by the way I am not Ms Gibbons but Mr Gibbons you fools!!

I've just found out the same thing!! I joined what turned out to be rapidshare.com this week, and could not load and ".de" sets....

After emailing them, this is what i got back in a form letter:

RapidShare.com and RapidShare.de are completely different companies. It is not possible to download files, use folders or collector's accounts from RapidShare.de at RapidShare.com and worthwise.

What I've been able to determine is that this change over happened in Oct. 2006. All the newer sets posted are ".com", but all the older sets are ".de", and cannot be downloaded without a separate ".de" account.

This is really awful, since i joined up hoping to save some the the older Teen Funs sets of Nansy and Katalin, etc.

One good poster even has posted the same MET sets in both formats! so this is known to have happened.

Most posters now use .com even though .de is now allowing uploads again.

Reason? well .com gives rewards for downloads (to the uploader) and .de does not So with .com a big uploader can get a free month every so often (sometimes for many months)

It is easy to sign up to the wrong one though they are very similar... (I think they are same company) I had a .de account with hundreds of uploads...these will ALL now be deleted at end of January
