Ok, especially for lazuro:

Creating a ZIP file is very easy. First you need a program which will do the work.

Most known programs are WinZIP and WinRAR. I usually prefer the later. Here is the link http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar341.exe . It is Shareware and the link is for a trial version. But usually it will work even after the 40 days they offer you as the trial period.

Simply install it with the default settings.

Now use your Windows Explorer and go to the directory where your files are. Then select all the files you want to add to the archive. You can select files by holding the Ctrl key on your keyboard and click on every file that should be selected. Or select the first file in the list and then hold the Shift key and select the last file, all files in between them both will also be selected. Or simply press Ctrl and A to select all files in this directory.

When done, do a Right click with your mouse on any of the selected files. It will offer you the context menu which also has items from WinRAR.

It offers you a zip filename based on the directory you are in (uma.zip because of c:\temp\tf\uma). If you select this you are already finished. It will create the file in the current directory and add your files.

But you can also select "Add to archive..."

A window comes up where you can enter the filename, the file format (ZIP or RAR), the compression method etc. You can even enter a comment for this file.

In the end you will have your zip file.

You can now test your archive if everything worked fine. Simply doubleclick on it and WinRAR will open the file.

Last thing to do is to write a post in this forum and attach it so that we can see the beauties you have on your harddisk.

Hope this helped.

Ok, you didn't mention that your on a Mac.

I don't have too much experience with Mac but I had a quick look.

You know http://www.maczipit.com/download.html ? It looks good for you, but I do not know if it is graphical or not.

And I don't think it will have a context menu. So you will have to start the program and then create a new file anyhow.

EDIT: and they have an FAQ on http://www.maczipit.com/faq/howto.html
