Mine is bladerunner. Although I like lots of others such as the alien quadrilogy, terminator trilogy etc.
I've recently watched bladerunner for the second time. I had forgotten how good it is! I love the end sequence where the replicant Roy saves Deckard's life (the bladerunner who is out to kill him) just before he himself dies. Very touching stuff... In fact I think I will add Roys dying words to my sig now

What movies does do you all like? I want to know if you have any recommendations.

Usual suspects , kill Bill, both 1 & 2, Pulp Fiction. Dogma. Films to watch over and over.

Funniest films. The Jerk. Jay and silent bob strike back. Life of Brian. Team America. Know them all off by heart and constantly bore people quoting them. "You are the one's that are the Ball Lickers"

Kill Bill is a great movie didn't like part two though. The usual suspects is a great film Ihave to agree.

The funniest comedy movie I have seen has to be dumb and dumber. I've watched it so many times over! very funny film! Smile

Hands down, Scarface (1983, dir. Brian DePalma). That's kind of a no-brainer.

In some particular order, though not set in stone the next four are:

Goodfellas
Pulp Fiction
Fight Club
Donnie Darko

The fifth choice was hard -- about 25 movies were candidates. So, I went with the most recently viewed. Possibly amongst them (fug the italics, which is probably improper anyway) an in no particular order:

Alien
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
A Clockwork Orange
The Thing (1982, dir. John Carpenter)
Return of the Living Dead
The Godfather
The Godfather Part II
Star Wars
The Empire Strikes Back
Blade Runner
Wild at Heart
Platoon
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Taxi Driver
L.A. Confidential
Slacker
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Fargo
Resevoir Dogs
Full Metal Jacket
Dog Day Afternoon
Spartacus
Memento
Clerks

Dagnabbit, I probably missed about 100. Bedtime.

Extremely difficult to narrow it down to just one movie. Tough for me to compare a great comedy like "Blazing Saddles" to a classic like "Casablanca". Or something like "Raiders of the Lost Ark" to "The Godfather". And more recent incredible movies, like "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon", haven't had the chance to age, like good wine. If someone asked me that question and held a gun to my head, I'd probably tell them to go ahead and shoot and put me out of my misery. Rolling Eyes

However ... Laughing ... for the sake of argument, with a very narrow victory over several films e.g. Raiders, I'll go with

SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION

Fantastic story, well made, great acting performances, runs the whole gamut of emotions, memorable quotes and lines, and for those of us that have escaped from a bad situation we shouldn't have been in in the first place ... exquisite. If you can't relate, you might not agree, but a "favorite movie" question is of course a very personal thing.

Some incredible movies mentioned up there, wow. Shocked I think I gave myself a concussion slapping myself on the head the first time I saw History of the World and Blazing Saddles, Mel Brooks was so far ahead of his time and those movies are easily 2 of my favorite comedies. Oh, and now we know one of the hobbies of the incredible don JonnyB. Very Happy

Esteban, as a confirmed rambling person that quote you mentioned 1.5 months ago is of course one of my favorites:

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die."

Gives me goosebumps just thinking about that scene.

Tinglin'Man

p.s. kudos to Black Dahlia for Donnie Darko, and to Juliegirl for both Citizen Kane and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Cen-sored. Wink

Fields of Dreams. Shawshank. 6th Sense. Forrest Gump. For one of the best actor of all Times.

The First StarWars in 1977. I saw it 31 times in Theater. It was a Sci-Fi revelation.

Bull Durham, for the Costner/Robbins convo in the bus about "cliche" to answer to journalists.
