I've downloaded the first episode of the third season of Lost. Problem is, no players will play the file. I've tried Windows Media Player, Quicktime, Realplayer, and the DivX player. Anyone out there have any suggestions for an alternative player or codec that will help me play this file?

I don't know what format the file you speak of is in, but you might give VLC media player a try. Search this site for a link. It plays just about everything. Good luck!

You will find an XP codec pack here https://www.forumophilia.com/topic11375.html

I have used both and dont have a problem with anything.

There's also a programme called G-spot which will analyze the video and give you a lot of technical data including what codec it uses.

I am sure VLC will do the trick! I cant remember any files that VLC did not handle. It even has a "repair" function in it! Good stuff!
