hey people help anyone,,
I just recieved my burner for my ibm thinkpad t23 ..
burner is nec t5100a dvd+ rw

..anyone know about a firmware update or hack so it would burn dvd-[minus] type
dvd's

finding the software isn't a problem,, but installing is..
not computer savy..and all my friends dvd players have no issue's playing sony dvd-
blank dvd's

It depend about producer of your drive, if new firmware will support DVD-R/RW. In company´s PC i have NEC burner too, and have not problem with any types of disks. I upgraded firmware yet. In home PC i use LG multidrive burner and it has no problems too and supports DVD-RAM recording too. I think only LG supports recording and playing all DVD formats (mine LightScribe function too)
