Have you ever been on youtube and found a band from another country you had never heard but they kicked ass? Sure you have. And I bet you wondered what other bands from that country have a similar sound. Well, that's where last.fm comes in.

I don't remember where or when I found the site, but I use it all the time to find Japanese music. Each song/band has tags, like j-pop, anime, or female vocalists to make it easy to find what you are looking for. Most singers/bands have streams of individual songs so you can check them out. Users also add in their suggestions. People have posted many video links of the songs, sometimes making the videos themselves. It's sort of a musical wiki.

More importantly and helpful is that there are mini radio stations you can listen to. Some are completely made up of a single band while others are made up of many different bands that have a similar sound. If you join the site, you can save your favorite radio stations or create your own. But you do not have to register to use most of the sites features.

And there are no pop-ups or redirects of any kind that I've encountered. There are ads, however, but they don't get in the way. As far as I know, the site is 100% legal much like youtube.

Have fun!
