Why are things so rediculous censored in USA?

I was watching tv the other day and there was a bronze statue of a nude lady with exposed breasts and the stupid channel had those 2 boobs blurred out..I mean can you imagine such idiots doing this? I mean the boobs did not even have any nipples or anything as I recently rented a DVD to see what this censor crap actually was meant for. USA is having a government filled with idiots or is it the American people as a whole for all this stupidity in censorship and fear of seeing the normal body???

Different things are censored in different countries. In parts of Europe, I could be thrown in jail for wearing an ancient symbol for Good Luck known and used by cultures all around the world. You know, a swatiska.

Up in Canada, the same fate could await me for saying anything the PC crowd deemed anti-homosexual.

And in Australia, the PC crowd has decided that images of small breasted women are akin to c p.

Yeah, blurring out images like that is completely ridiculous. But it's the cowardly station owners and sue happy lawyers who dictate this nonsense on the rest of us here in the States.

censorship in the US is simply retarded ..give me a break...they will show people getting their heads blown off,,stabbed,
beaten....etc...very graphic sometimes.......
but...omg..BETTER NOT show a nipple.....hell no...can't have that might give a kid a bad idea...
in Europe nudity on TV it is not a big deal...in America .....violence on TV is ok.....but Nudity is taboo unless you get cable....

I agree with sladebear, in the US very disturbing violent crime scenes are on most major channels during prime time. Meanwhile, a woman's breasts are taboo.

I'd much rather watch two consenting adults (one or both of them a very attractive woman) engaging in mutually enjoyable sex acts, than one episode of some stupid cop show dealing with another psychotic killer.

More to the point, why is Japanese porn censored??

That is because of the US obsession about 'age inappropriateness'.

My taste in women is just that, women, not ****, but life is a slope, not a cliff that starts at 18.

Sorry to rant on like this about the USA, we have our fair share of prudes and control freaks over hear too, but the difference is the US authorities reach beyond their own borders to impose their warped ideas on us.

There was a case here a year or so ago where a HS girl took nude photos of herself and gave them to her boyfriend because we all know that teenage boys are really good at keeping these kinds of things secret. As hard as it is to believe, he went and shared them with some of his buddies, who shared them with some of their buddies. The girl was humiliated, the police called and the boy arrested for distributing c p. My first question was why was the girl not charged with the creation of that c p?

There have been quite a few other cases the same as this with the same result. There was another case like this in Canada where the young lady was charged with making C/P and she got 5month in a group home. She was caught a AGAIN a few months later and got less then a year.

The United States has the little plague called the Moral Majority. When put to the test they are neither moral or a majority truth be told, but they have an unflinching dedication to limiting the freedoms of every other American that is not afraid to view, read or listen to the very things that make your own naught bits tingle.

Point of fact, 95% of the complaint filed with the FCC about the Janet Jackson nipple exposure at the Super Bowl a few years back where made by people that never saw it happen when it happened live. If they did see it happen it was after the fact via a recording. The complaints came as a result of an email that went to the complainers that basically told them that a nipple was made viable during the live Super Bowl half time show and even though you never actually saw it happen you must be offended by is and complain to the FCC.

What is funny, there could be a show where 50 people are brutally murdered in ever way imaginable and none of the asshats would complain, but through in loving couple having movie style R rated sense and they will be screaming about how the show is corrupting to morals of or society.

It is groups like this that make American have to pay for premium channels to see good show on TV.

I can't wait for the boxes set of season one of "Lost Girl" for just this reason.
