Whoa. Houdini's John Cleese avatar followed by We..., errr, R0m30's Ministry of Silly Walks avatar. Truly a python-esque topic. Bruce!
Speaking of which, I hate to sound like an idiot <again>, but I would think that the NSA has been doing this sort of thing ever since Al Gore invented the internet. Honestly, I don't think its new. What's new is someone
writing about it. IMHO anytime you write something online -- including EMAIL and including FORUMS and including BANKING and including EVERY GOLDARN THING -- somebody somewhere has the ability to read and screen it. Maybe not right away, but with a bit of code-breaking.
Actually its not a person or persons screening it. Its huge motherfuckin' computers which have the power to screen everything online. And the NSA (and other groups in other countries) are the ones who have the mathematics and technology to do, well, whatever they want, in this information age. I don't mean to sound paranoid, but really I've just always thought this. Especially after my experiences in grad school math in the early 90s. Its all about coding theory and finite algebras ... and big futhermocking computers!
Ahhh, but whether or not they have the time and inclination and manpower, well, that's another matter. Me, I don't know whether to shit or go blind. Or join with this woman.
