Since the NSA is more than willing to vacuum up personal info - even going so far as to use NASA , then it's not that surprising to see they are interested in the popular social sites...

Maybe I'm an attention-whore, but the idea that I'm having an audience is, well, appealing!

Whoa. Houdini's John Cleese avatar followed by We..., errr, R0m30's Ministry of Silly Walks avatar. Truly a python-esque topic. Bruce!

Speaking of which, I hate to sound like an idiot <again>, but I would think that the NSA has been doing this sort of thing ever since Al Gore invented the internet. Honestly, I don't think its new. What's new is someone writing about it. IMHO anytime you write something online -- including EMAIL and including FORUMS and including BANKING and including EVERY GOLDARN THING -- somebody somewhere has the ability to read and screen it. Maybe not right away, but with a bit of code-breaking.

Actually its not a person or persons screening it. Its huge motherfuckin' computers which have the power to screen everything online. And the NSA (and other groups in other countries) are the ones who have the mathematics and technology to do, well, whatever they want, in this information age. I don't mean to sound paranoid, but really I've just always thought this. Especially after my experiences in grad school math in the early 90s. Its all about coding theory and finite algebras ... and big futhermocking computers! Wink

Ahhh, but whether or not they have the time and inclination and manpower, well, that's another matter. Me, I don't know whether to shit or go blind. Or join with this woman.

mentioning that South Carolina and North Dakota are considering the death penalty for **** molesters. Picture this scenario (one that has been in my newspapers several times this year) - a 25 year old female teacher has sex with a 14 year old boy student. Under this law that woman could be sentenced to death for having sex with a "****" - she is a **** molester. In the meantime that "****" is walking around with a smile on his face, his confidence and sense of being a man overflowing, as his teacher faces the death penalty. Does this seem a little draconian to you or is it just me. If I had been an aggressive boy when I was in school I could have had sex with at least two of my female teachers - no doubt about it. What would have happened to them under this law? I just yesterday read (and you may have too) about a teacher in Texas (Miss Texas no less) who had sex with a student who was 18 years old. But because this Texas law was written (intentionally because of Republicans) without specifying age limits she could face (get this) up to twenty, that's 20, years in prison for having sex with one of her students!!! UNBELIEVABLE!! I think of these kind of idiotic laws (they can only be conservative laws) and I get so g*d*a*ned mad I could chew nails and sh@t rivets. The most this teacher should get is to be fired from her job. The death penalty for **** **** killers - right on!! (but be sure that person is guilty beyond the shadow of a doubt - we've all read about cases such as this after serving twenty years in prison determined to be innocent because of DNA findings later). That's why I'm not wild about the death penalty; an innocent person can be caught up in it, and that's the only reason.
Get out and vote in November. I don't think there will ever be a more important election. The past is prologue for those who don't know, or don't care!!! This beloved nation of ours can end up under a dictatorship!!
