@!%^%$&%!!!!!
I don't mind the "did you really mean this" type of message, because sometimes I do type in the wrong thing. But don't show me the results I didn't Fing look for! I hate that! Arrrrggghhh!!!
If a search engine ever comes around that searches and displays " " results that ONLY contain the exact words that you are looking for, in the EXACT same order that you typed them in, it will kick google's ass!
And if you can display them in the order they first appear in - newest to oldest-oldest to newest - it will REALLY kick their ass, and hard!

You can do all this with Google and more. I won't go into details to avoid sounding condescending, but I will provide a link that will help you search more effectively. There is no shame in not knowing these tips, Google and other search engines are full fledged online apps and require some training before getting the full benefits of these powerful cyber-tools. Good Searching!

Thanks for not being condescending, I'll try to do the same.
You shouldn't have to use apps or anything else for the basic things that I mentioned. Just like you shouldn't have to reach into the glove box and push a button or two in order to shift your car into 5th gear, you shouldn't have to download anything extra to do basic, common sense things with google. A simple "search by date" or a "specific search only" box should be provided.
Click the "search by date" box, for say Barack Obama, and my google would list the very first thing found about Obama, possibly his birth announcement in a Hawaiian paper. If there were more than one, it would list them all. But google doesn't do that. As far as I know, it's algorithm doesn't search for dates on blog entries, dates on newspaper or magazine pages or anything else along those lines. Instead, the 'date' google uses is whenever it got around to indexing that particular item. Meaning something published in 1964 might show up in a date search as being from 2002.
Now you can use the julian date trick for more specific time searches but wtf, you shouldn't have to do that. That's my point. I'm sure there's an app to make it easier to figure out but again. it should be just a basic part of their service.
My view of google is of course tempered by the evil doings of the owners and other head honchos. Whether it's for spying on people, stealing data, collaborating with the NSA or helping the Communists in China round up dissidents to be tortured, and probably killed, the people who run google should all be in jail. But that's a whole 'nother rant!
