WTF Acer Tech support

So I have an Acer 5542G laptop and ive been using the headphone jack to run my Logitech speakers/sub, today I took my laptop outside and was watching a movie through the laptops speakers. I hooked everything back up to the laptop when I went inside and kapow my sound wouldnt switch back to the speakers/sub when I plugged them in. I tried adjusting the sound settings in the control pannel to no avail so I contacted tech support @ acer and they told me to reinstall the sound drivers. I did that, still no sound comming through the headphone jack, so I contacted tech support again and they tell me to do a system restore

Any idea's how to get my headphone jack to play the sound instead of the laptop speakers? I have the HDMI sound disabled

Your headphone jack could be broken. I had that happen before. I think in my instance, the headphones worked but it didn't turn off the laptop speaker, when plugged in. So had sound out of both at the same time.

That would seriously suck if it broke since i bought the laptop 2 months ago
