Ok, I know this guy who is starting to get curious about photoshop. In the last week or so, there have been some good tutorials by grumpyone, then stallion, and Photo1 has even thrown in some tips. All this makes my friend a little jealous, because everyone has seen his great skill with Paint, he still cannot compare to the photoshop guys. He was even asking about image grabber programs to capture screen shots, and then being told that they are single pics photoshopped together!!! All this makes me my friend a little curious about the program and makes him want to play with it.

Sorry to say, but my friend is a tightwad and currently jobless, and refuses to fork over BIG BUCKS for the program. He found a place online that appears to have the program available in 4 rars, and he has some questions he wanted me to ask...

1. Is it even possible to split this program into 4 rars?

2. I checked (for my friend) and it appears that this is the latest version, Adobe Photoshop CS2 9.0. That is the most current right, and it appears like the size 321Mb is just a little under what is advertised on Adobe website 342Mb. Is this right?

3) If someone has messed with this program, putting in viruses or spyware, will Macafee spot it while it is all packed up, he doesn't want to mess up his rig.

4) Does a program that has a cracked password function just like a regular one???

4) Would add-ons and other things work with a cracked program??

4) Is my friend wasting his time DL this instead of some nice porn???

Any advice or suggestions for my friend?

Buy an older version, say PS 6 or 7 from an online auction for cheap! It does not have to be the latest version. The jump from PS7 to PS8 aka CS1 is tech stuff, nothing that a novice will even notice Wink

vorhees, thanks for the tip. My cheap friend took the plunge and got the photoshop off the internet and it is up and running. Now of course, a book must be purchased, then he will start dazzling everyone with horrible pics... Laughing Laughing Laughing

No need to reply anymore guys, thanks again vorhees Very Happy

Hey Mole tell you're cheap friend Wink to check the local used book stores he may find a descent book on PS. I know I send all my old books there. Seriously it's a great resource sometimes.

CS is nice, I have it loaded and find PS7 better. Oh and CS is a bit tricky to install and register safely unless you paid for it. Wink

I wasn't gonna reply, but the book store thing can be great and cheap.

For the really cheap approach, try GIMP <GNU Image Manipulation Program>, which is available for FREE for all kinds of operating systems, including Windows.

I understand it has the same power as PS, but have only dabbled with it. Website is http://www.gimp.org
