VLC Media Player......

Hi

I have had problem with VLC player..whenever I used it on an avi file it caused a STOP error on PC...nothing else has done this, but it did it every time (but wmv and mpg files were fine.

Now VLC will not load at all.

uninstalled and reinstalled but still it wont work

anyone had any problems??

VLC version is 0.8.2 running XPPro XP2500/512 (with gForce 5200 128)

If it happens with every AVI file, the problem is with the Codec being loaded to decode the file. If it happens with just one file, then it's only that movie.

You can go to DivX.com and get the latest codec pack, or get the K-Lite pack here: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm

WHatever you choose, look for an option on your machine to uninstall the old codecs first.
