Hi,
i did not find a topic realting to this subject, so i opened this thread.

My question is: How dangerous is uploading? It is possible that, for example, met-art.com send me a "warning letter" (i hope it is the correct word in english) with the demand of paying them for their financial damage when i'm uploading a met-art set?
What are the admins of the pornsites doing when they discover my links on rapidshare, oron, or whatever? It is juristically possible to get anger with a usa-site when i'm uploading their stuff in germany? Do you upload your stuff just normal at home or are you using a vpn or something like that to hide your ip during uploading?

Thanks in advance!

I don't think that pornsites will sue you internationally - well, unless its uncle Hefner.

My RS account has been cleaned out a couple of times. Don't know who snitched the files, but losing them was all thats happened. Personally I don't think, that simple filesharers are sued. The companies are usually after the ones selling their stuff illegaly.

It's not safe anymore I think.

RS was brought down on it's knees and isn't a good porn-host anymore and I believe that's an omen. The "adult entertainment" industry is on the attack.

I especially wouldn't upload to any service which is hosted in Amsterdam. I live and work in the Netherlands and I know there will be something happening...

France isn't that much better either.

But RS was brought to its knees by the film and music industry, not the porn industry. The porn folks, unless we're talking playboy, penthouse or Hustler, is but a fly when compared to the rest of the entertainment industry.

Some companies in the porn industry (L1ght5p33d for one) have recently taken to suing people who allegedly downloaded torrents of their material. So far all filehosters have to do is delete a file when there's a copyright complaint, but I'm sure that soon enough they'll also be required to hand over uploaders' and downloaders' IP addresses upon demand.

If the porn industry went after all people that don't pay for their porn, they would end up in legal action with almost 70% of the world (those that have computers). Porn is the largest industry by 6 times over the next closest hostsite. They would also end up damaging their customers who probably buy and download (that would not be good, too sue your customer). I think UL is probably safer than downloading, but that is just an opinion.

UL safer? When uploading movies you're personally responsible for sharing it to thousands of people. While downloading you're doing copy only for yourself. Its 1000s : 1 IMHO doesn't look safer.
