download manager for oron ?

happy with mipony and flashgot but cant get them to work relaibly with oron .... what you guys using after the new rules ?

I use Flashgot & FDM - ORON OK if I'm logged into an account, but flaky on free, premature termination. But I don't think that's a downloader issue, more likely a capacity issue - account downloads will get priority.

Free was fine when they started - apart from the long waiting times.

I get the impression that I'm seeing less ORON these days, apart from here, so the capacity induced problems may subside and free downloads will be reliable again - albeit with long waits.

The best oron downloader is none, because it sucks.
If you don't buy a premium account (don't be so stupid to do such a thing) you will have to wait so long, that links will probably die before you are able to download it.
So if you want to download a file posted with oron, try to find it first in other host

Using Oron just supports immoral, money hungry lowlifes, and supports GS' intention to kill this board as anything other than a cash generator.

@matadorstuff - there are at least 2 FO members who used to get a steady income from selling RS Premium accounts on Ebay, that's how I found this place, I bought one!

You possibly downloaded some of their posts - file hosters will credit a Paypal account and EBay sales credit an Paypal account. I really can't see a moral difference - a Paypal account has a credit balance as a result of folks downloading stolen property.

And most of those who didn't sell RS Premium accounts on EBay, would use their accumulated points to "fund" their own RS account - again I cannot see the moral difference.

Real altruistic posters upload to media fire pro, for which they pay $9.00/month minimum, downloaders then enjoy ad free, unlimited, premium quality, downloads of up to 2G - for free.

I have an ORON account. When it first started a couple of people who were posting hi quality hard to get material (i.e from Verotel protected or picture by picture download sites) switched to it. ORON had an opening offer of 12 euro's for 12 months, so I got one. The posters in question stopped using ORON when free downloads became practically impossible.

Martin Krake now sells individual photosets sets and vids at 85 e-cents each on his ED & EGG sites, I wonder if that idea will catch on. I suspect a good proportion of the silent majority, who actually do most of the downloading, might prefer that option. Rather than pissing around trying to get a free download or paying file hosters for the privilege of downloading stolen property a bit easier and faster than doing it for free. Or even worse screen sc**** incomplete image sets from gallery posts in the hope that you'll find the missing pictures one fine day.

If it does catch on then the whole enchilada will be moot.

Anyway this place is cactus now that svinto & gang have been given their marching orders, pink slips, the elbow - whatever.

who-ever, I don't include you in my tirade against Oron users.

I'd know you are a good, genuine poster. The fact you make the effort to take part in the community proves that.

But I won't support Oron because of the way it was **** upon us here - I've no problem with people making some money from their uploads (I'm not on any moral high horse; distributing copyrighted content is illegal after all, regardless of your motivation).

But for a lot of people money is their primary reason, and it's those who post threads of random stuff with generic thread titles, with no focus and no personal touch, that piss me off. Sorry I can't explain myself very well, but to me there's only a fine line between the majority of the new Oron-using members and spammers.

Beware of download managers for moron. Oron will take traffic for whole file - at the beginning. If you don't finish file - doesn't matter.

When you pause download an then resume - oron will take traffic for whole file again and again and again. I don't know how it will be with multithreading downloading, but i'm affraid, when you split file into 5 parts - oron take 5xsize of file and take away this traffic from your account. Maybe someone will check it.
