anyone know how to get a direct link from ORON without the "create download link" etc crap

or how to get RS to use the oron FTP host direct

I uploaded some files to ORON when it was mandatory - I'd like to get them over to RS so I can post RS

MU, RS and ORON - back to the future - hosts that wont inter-operate, just like RS, MF & MU

No point asking RS or Oron - they will just tell me to clear browser cache

Have you cleared your browser cache Wink

I had no luck too, tried oron->RS and oron->NL, even added some coockie text, but no.
Wasn't there a very tricky way (don't remember exactly anymore) to remote to MU by using the MU coockie manager?

yep did that, also reset my router, disabled my firewall, killed my AV, turned off AdBlock, allowed JS - make not one iota of difference Wink

userL301 is the expert on that - but I didn't like the idea of stuffing RS's cookies into MU's cookie manager - which was a server function. I just want to move some f...ing files not bake a kilo of biscuits.

In terms of remote uploads, the new approved file host list is even more restrictive than the previous list - about which I opined at some length.

"after much careful consideration ..." - bovine excrement.

too hard . I won't bather with it.

I had a very brief look at the (RS -> ) oron remote-upload, looking for an easy way to get hundreds of links copied - and decided not to upload there. How can someone seriously call a text-box for ten links "Mass URL upload"? Evil or Very Mad

The trick at MU->RS is that a "link-stealing"-script on a server can generate MU->RS-links.

As a free-user at oron I see this message after the waiting-time: "This direct link will be active for your IP for the next 2 hours" - means: can't be downloaded fom a RS-IP.
If premium-accounts don't have a "direct-download"-feature or get valid links independent of the IP used to get the link, then it's not possible to get the files to another hoster. Try copy&paste a oron download-link (not just the link to the file) to RS-remote upload and you know if it's possible.

Adding messages to the server (like &cookie=...) makes sense only if the server knows what to do with it.
Authenticating with a cookie instead of user:pass has the advantage, that noone can see the user-pass-combo directly. Messing around with the cookie-box seems better than sending unencrypted login-info thru the web.

In general the hoster which pay for downloads have an interest to be the dead-end for files: they simply don't want mirrors on better hosts (mirrors are even forbidden at some of them). HF e.g. seems to be closing accounts due account-sharing if there are (too many?) remote-uploads to other hosts.

Maybe a complete boycott of oron might add some reliable and usable hosts to the list - if this board has not become purely a promoting-site for oron, or whatever the intereste of the board-owner are.

Any host will let you remote upload RS links,

some you have to have the RS download link, not the one RS gives out but the one RS gives your download manager ...

ie..

RS link
dead link

after you add to download manager link

http://rs479l34.rapidshare.com/files/410509846/Alon.Software.Contact.Guide.Pro.v1.15.S60v3.SymbianOS9.x.Unsigned.Cracked-ErESPDA.rar

username:password@

All you would do is add your account info in the manager link

http://username:password@rs479l34.rapidshare.com/files/410509846/Alon.Software.Contact.Guide.Pro.v1.15.S60v3.SymbianOS9.x.Unsigned.Cracked-ErESPDA.rar

then add to any remote upload host.

I use internet download manager to get the download links Wink

1st The question is oron->RS
2nd For RS->somewhere else it's not necessary to add the RS-server#.

So hotfile works for you ?

many are changing to make it easier to take RS files but most are blocked and you need to have the server input.

HF made a news report months ago that RS blocked them from downloading and that therefore remote uploading from RS is not option.

... because they blocked RS first Wink - by sending false information on HF->RS remote-uploads.

Many hoster use cookies (respectively user/pass to get the cookie) seperately from the RS-links.

I just tested oron and netload with http://user:pass@rapid... - both can login properly without the RS-server in the link.

Wget and cURL (with -L/--location) are doing fine with a cookie, cURL also accepts links with RS-server: http://user:pass@$serverid.rapid...

I had not used HF for a while (because they don't want links from RS or just few GB resulting in incomplete sets when i last used it some months ago).
I just tested HF with and without $serverid - both failed: "No Content-Length provided"
should use --> "CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION, 1" ?

I remember that two months ago HF blocked RS and then RS blocked HF until HF removed the block again. It worked for a while then.
I stopped using HF, because they didn't want my files. Also i've heared that HF is closing accounts due "account-shareing" once they detect remote-uploads HF->other host.

Q.How to fetch files from other file hostings as RapidShare
A. Put as download URL: http://username:password@rapidshare.com/files/193082186/filename.rar Where username:password are your password to your RapidShare account

Q. Affiliates: How do I become platinum member / raise my rank?
A. Essentially to reach a higher status your links should sell more premium accounts. Here are few tips that may help you to obtain a higher rank and eventually reach platinum status:
- Try to post files from hot file.com only. Using another file hosting service for the same files allows users to simultaneously download from different sites and they have less incentive to buy premium.
- Switching to different file hosting services every other day hurts your rank - that way people are less willing to buy a premium account, as they will need multiple premium accounts from different services to get all the content and that is more expensive.
- Upload files only if you intent to promote them. Used server space is also accounted when your rank is considered.
- Put more effort into bringing more visitors to download your files, rather than to upload more files. If you upload 10Gb of files everyday just to have every file downloaded just few times you are going to be stuck with Copper.
- Post only on reliable resources. Posting on sites that have popups, try to install trojans or similar stuff hurts your performance and you lose rank.

HF is crap.
