I'd like to hear some of the best music anyone has ever picked out, for
sharing with other people.

In particular, I would be entirely willing to spend/dedicate/invest some of
my serious quiet time, to hearing what other folks like the best, for each
and all of the things listed in the thread title, ALL of which can, and
should, be shared with others, fairly often.

For now, let's limit any collections (cal them "playlists", if you want to use
iTunes terminology) to 80 minutes or less. That way, if a selection sounds
promising, anyone can burn it onto a CD and listen to it more carefully, in
a wider range of places.

AS NOTED BELOW, DO >>NOT<< DO THIS; IT WOULD VIOLATE THE BOARD RULES.
So, please up any links to any rar files you would most like to share, with others.

INSTEAD, POST LISTS OF SONG TITLES, ONLY.

That's the concept. Simple, clean, and easy.

There are two rules here:

1. Always use mp3 files. NO LONGER APPLICABLE. NO LINKS TO MUSIC FILES CAN BE POSTED ON THIS BOARD.

2. Name the category it falls into, immediately before any song title, or list of titles.

3. Give any ratings/opinions on a scale of 0 to 100, where:

0 means and translates into:

"Is that shit a fucking joke? If, so, it's in lousy taste.
I would give it a negative rating, but that would violate the rules."

100 means:

"Both my wife and/or girlfriend and I love that collection, so much that
I went out and got every single song on it, and created CD's which we
now both have in our cars, kitchen, and bedroom. In fact, we like
>>EVERY SINGLE SONG<< in that collection so damn much that we kept
everything on it, exactly as is, and in the same sequence. And there is no
higher praise I can offer, than that."

4. If you want to offer praise for any song or collection, that's great, but
only for songs or collections or clusters that you believe rate HIGHER
THAN 80.

In other words, if you didn't like it, cool. Thanks for warning us, and don't
even bother saying why. You're too busy, and we're too busy, to waste
time on music we don't even like.

However, if you like a certain song or playlist A WHOLE LOT, then you're
welcome to tell us why, to try to pique our interest, and get us to listen to
it if we havent done so yet. We love positive, interesting, persuasive
pitches. So practice some on us, and try to hone your skills. Cuz you
know what? Real women, in real life, also like to hear positive, interesting,
persuasive pitches. Whether in a seduction scene, or anywhere else. So
learn to practice THOSE kinds of pitches, rather than complaining or
whiny.
So . . . focus on the positive.
"It" (you know . . . this. And life. And people. And pretty much
everything else, too) really is that simple. And that complicated, and
difficult, too.

5. If you don't like any of my rules, fine. Create your own thread. That's
easy enough, and it might turn into something good.

The last and final rule for this thread is in the next post, below.
ACTUALLY, 4 POSTS DOWN. I GOT ENLIGHTENED, AS
YOU'LL SEE BELOW. AND I LOVE IT WHEN ENLIGHTENMENT COMES
QUICKLY, EASILY, AND AT NO COST OF TIME OR MONEY. SO . . .
THANKS TO THE MODS, ONE AND ALL!!

No more rules, after that. Not by me, not by anyone.

AND OH, YEAH -- THERE'S NO CATEGORY FOR THIS, BUT ONE OF THE
FUNNIEST DAMN SONGS ABOUT SEX AND RELATIONSHIPS I'VE EVER
HEARD (STILL ON THE THEME OF "ENLIGHTENMENT . . . Wink )
IS "DON'T TOUCH ME THERE" BY THE TUBES.
Hey, cool, just found out: if you copy "tubes dont touch me there"
into Google, the first listing has a truly lovely extended sample. Cool

Well, goodness.

I read the rules once. But I don't remember reading that part.

Okay, thanks for the warning. That settles that. Please lock this thread, immediately.

OH, BUT WAIT A MINUTE -

Well, I didn't create a category for, "While moderating the forum."

So thanks for adding that. And I actively invite and encourage
EVERY moderator to add some more to that list.

I'm not a mod, but if I were, I think I would at least start out trying:

Queensryche: Silent Lucidity (one of the all-time greats)

Pink Floyd: Selections from Ummagumma and Astronomy Domine, and
Atom Hear Mother (edited and shortened, using Audacity = free editor)

Some "Hearts of Space" (a great late-night radio show)

Alan Parsons, starting and ending with "Turn of a Friendly Card",
with a bunch of early stuff in the middle, to create a suite
(Time, Ignorance is Bliss, If I Could Only Change Your Mind, etc.)

Yes: Close to the Edge, And You and I, Siberian Khatru

Procol Harum: half a dozen songs, end with "In Held Twas In I"

Screaming rock guitar, with no words:
Joe Satriani, Ronnie Montrose, Steve Vai
(Mission of Burma, and Ingwe Malmstein don't seem to work for me)

I don't know about talking-, dating-, eating or romance-music, but for sex, I don't think there's much better music than Enigma, is there? Like.. Principles Of Lust (Sadeness - Find Love - Sadeness/Reprise), Shadows In Silence, Mea Culpa (Fading Shades), Principles of Lust (Everlasting Lust), Callas Went Away and Superficial.. Perfect pace, perfect bass, warm and moist tones. Nothing equals that. And, within it genre, I would rate it close to, if not right on 100!

Can't say much about the others either, but for sex, depends on how we are feeling. If we are feeling romantic and slow, we will play some r&b; if she wants me to pound into her, then some nice Metallica or other hard rock!

For me, its gotta be Miles davis doo wop album. Works a treat, or eric marienthal for those rmantic schmoozy nights. For a bit more upmarket, id probably try some kind of 80s electro or hip hop music, just basically something with a beat, but with very few or indistinguishable words. I think thats important, as for me, i tend to get into the music, and theres nothing worse than you getting close in, and suddenly your girl recognises a tune, gets into it and totally ruins the moment!
