I guess it is ok, we will to wait and see.
with the old conversion of 1 premium = 1.25 free points, I used to be able to extend my account for 8000 premium points.

Now it takes 5000 premium and 5000 free, that seems like more to me.
extending it for a year would have only cost 96,000 premium points under the old system, now it takes 100,000 total points.

I see, but I have an advantage from this new system. I have 2 collector accounts for years and redeemed my points to premium accounts from time to time. I was punished by the introduction of premium points last July. I have tons of worthless free points that got some value back.

My calculation is: 96,000 premium points under the old system, now i takes only 50,000 premium points. Smile

News from RS:

Premium accounts will continue to exist after the subscription period has expired

May 25, 2010
With immediate effect, premium accounts whose paid subscription period has expired will no longer be automatically deleted. We now offer our customers the option to switch the paid features on and off as and when they need them without having to create a new account each time, as was previously the case. Naturally, costs only fall due when paid modules are booked. Otherwise the account will continue to be free.

I don't know why but my cookie is deleted every time I reboot...

I'm a bit angry also, I can't upload anymore in my classic account (too many files as they said...)

So I created a new account with my points but I can't have access to it !!

Yeah, I made the mistake to not wrote the login they gave me, and now it seems that my new account has disappeared...

I still can upload with the "secure trafficShare mode" but I don't know what is this mode Confused

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

EDIT : I still don't know why but today I can upload in "normal" mode...

You're talking about the Prem-Acc you used so far and not about a Collectors-Acc, right?

Go to the old Prem-Zone and there to Arrow Logs
At Redeemed RapidPoints you'll find the Account-ID of the newly created Account Wink E-Mail is the same.

Now you can ask RS-support dead link to reset your Password.

In order to upload:
Deactivate the Security Lock and go to Settings in NEW Prem Zone: at Settings for storage limit chose option #2: Save files even if account is full - please note our inactivity rule!

Maybe RS will tess us sometime how much TrafficShare it will cost to host files longer than 60 days.

With TrafficShare you pay the traffic for the downloader, secure TS has some additional features. Don't use this unless you know what you're doing. Mr. Green dead link

That's also what I did today, and now I can upload in my old premium account.
So... I won't get mad for the 10,000 points gone...

Many thanks for your answer userl301, it's really nice to have some support.

Strange Confused
In my logs apperar a "2" for converted points, the old AccID for extensions of the oldAcc and a new Acc-ID for new Accounts.

I'd ask the support what they think of it. Loosing 10k Points doesn't hurt, writing a mail won't hurt you either Cool

Good luck!

Thanks for your clever answer once again userl301.

I too much know what looks like to wait an answer from RS, so, no way !

If I still can share here, I won't care about the 10k points gone.

Even if this means my rapidpoints gone near to zero...

Not sure about the cookie thing, but RS has changed the login url from their mainpage:
now it's
Code:
https://ssl.rapidshare.com/premzone.html

and formerly was
Code:
https://ssl.rapidshare.com/premiumzone.html

The new zone is asking your login details via javascript, therefor i didn't get them stored in my firefox pw-manager, that's a bit annoying.
But you can use the old url, login and then switch to the new premium zone. Maybe this way your cookies is valid after reboot.

Afaik it was premzone.html before, too. But now the cookie in the beta-Zone is a session-cookie (which is deleted, when you close the browser).
The old zone still has a "real" cookie.

That means Arrow load https://ssl.rapidshare.com/cgi-bin/premiumzone.cgi?refresh=1 before you close the browser.
