RS Rewards / Donations

Have you noticed, that the RS rewards link is missing:

Though there are no news about it, the link is missing, but still working:

If some of your ordered rewards are still pending, you should ask the RS support about it.

As far as I know, all pending rewards will be sent though.

i have a reward pending. when (if) i receive it, i will tell you guys!

I would laugh my head off if the reward system would be suspended (too) due to "lack of international response"

Just guessing: the fact that the rewards site is still reachable (though not oficially linked) makes me think that RS is maybe negotiating about the prices of their rewards. I'm pretty sure that RS is not paying the full 50 Euros for the amazon-voucher. Maybe this (hopefully temporary suspension) is just a ****ish way to force pressure towards amazon (in this typical RS-way by not paying any attention to their customers)

yeah, i dont think rs will totally close its rewardsystem. otherwise rs will be ruined pretty soon...

Its got nothing to do with renegotiating a contract with Amazon . After they stopped the caash payments , I ordered an Ipod within hours of it being made available , about 2 weeks before they said they were sold out. Now they tell me i won't be getting it.

They've become a bunch of con artists who treat their customers with total contempt.

RapidDonations: Do good with RapidPoints

Have you ever wished for a possibility of donating to an aid project with just one click? We are happy to present our new project "RapidDonations". In a matter of seconds, you can give some of your RapidPoints to a charitable organization, and RapidShare will turn them into a valuable monetary donation.

Seems not everybody at the RS office is just chilling and smoking funny things all day long: at least one had a good idea.

But i won't spend a single point unless i've seen the name "Rapidshare" on the list of the donators of these organizations or i've seen one of these donations receipts.

It looks like a moral trap: everybody who is asking about the rewards now seems very selfish, cause now you have a very noble way to get rid of your points.
Guess they have spent some of their "points" to a press adviser ...

Maybe i was a bit too harsh, of course i'm sure RS is giving the money to them, anything else would be suicide.
And of course spending money to those organizations is important.

But somehow i cannot believe that "doing good" is RS's main intention, not to mention the tax benefit for RS (cause they spend "your" money and get the donation receipts). Suspending the reward system ("due to a reorganization"??) and now suddenly offering a donation page is no coincidence.
And not to mention the new exchange rate:
50 Euros donation = 50k free + 50k premium points
50 Euros amazon voucher = 20k free + 40k premium points

Btw, by clicking on the logo of each organization you can donate direct to them, some also accept paypal.

Its all part of this ethical & moral thing that is going on in Europe at the moment - all organisations trying to prove their 'credentials'.
